WSVS 3.27.10

We left the house at 8 a.m. and headed up to Crewe, Va. to play on the High Noon Hoedown on WSVS AM 800. The High Noon Hoedown is an hour performance/interview with bands who play on there. We performed songs such as: "Ole Slew Foot", "No Depressions in Heaven", and Johnny Horton's: "Sleepy Eyed John". After we played, we had some delicious BBQ, slaw, and green beans catered by Mr. B. from Victoria, Va. While enjoying a delicious meal, another bluegrass group, The Fitzmaurice band played after us, and we thoroughly enjoyed listening to them!

Six String Café

Tonight, we opened up for the Boys From Carolina Bluegrass Band at the Six String Café and Music Hall in Raleigh. We had a wonderful time and it was a true honor opening for the band! We performed at 7 p.m. before the Boys took the stage at 8. Six String bought out Bullwinkles and is now a Café; a place where it not only sells GREAT food and beverages, but has great entertainment! If you ever want to get out of the house and go somewhere, we suggest trying the Six String Café. We assure you that you will be satisfied!

A Bunch of Stuff!

For the past few months, we have had few bookings, but are picking things back up soon! Since 2010, there have been some changes to the group including new guitarist, Virginia Groover.
Virginia, 15, played with her family's group, The Possum Road Bluegrass Band. She, her sister, Katie Beth and brother, Jesse have been playing bluegrass for several years. With Katie Beth in college and Jesse's going to college this summer, it opens the door to new oppurtunities to play with other people. Virginia made her debut performance with us Saturday night March 13th at Glenn School Road Baptist Church in Durham. The show went great, we had great refreshments and a wonderful camraderie with each other!
Please visit our website at: www.bethesdabluegrassboys.com and see where we're playing next! And while you're there, please sign our guestbook! Below is the latest picture of the group.
